Popis

The name is derived from the Polish adjective jary meaning ‘springlike, clear, robust', or from the Polish common noun jarosz meaning ‘a vegetarian', and refers to a characteristic feature. It may also be derived from such Old Slavic compound names as Jarogniew, Jaromir or Jarosław, or Old Polish names such as Jeronim ~ Jaronim ‘Jerome’, with the suffix -osz and refer to the connection with the father or another ancestor by that name.
