Advanced search

You can search by multiple parameters using advanced search. If you do not specify a parameter, that condition will not be used.

Example:
You set the language of the family name you are looking for to Hungarian and the "Name contains" field to "ko".
After clicking the search button, the program will list all Hungarian family names containing the "ko" string.

Name contains:

The name must contain this string. You can leave it blank.

Country

You can select a country or deselect it by clicking on the x sign.

Origin

You can select an origin or deselect it by clicking on the x sign.

Type

You can select multiple types or deselect them by clicking on the x signs.

Family name referring to an occupation, activity or social status
Family name referring to internal or external characteristics, circumstances or event
Family name referring to some connection with an ethnic group
Family name referring to the connection with the father or another ancestor by that name
Family name referring to the place of residence, origin or estate
