The name is derived from the common noun nováček (diminutive form of the Czech common noun novák meaning ‘a person new to a certain environment, a newcomer’). It may also be derived from the diminutive form of the common noun of the same form meaning ‘shoemaker or tailor who produced only new shoes/clothes and refused to repair old ones, convert who adopted new religion or innovator who preferred everything new’.
